A consortium of
Spatial Foresight (lead partner), TCP International and
TNO Delft as been awarded a study to analyse the logistic sector in the German-Dutch border region of the EUREGIO. Under the INTERREG A project
EUREGIO Freight Corridor on the joint development strategy of the logistics sector, EUREGIO commissioned this study in four lots:
Lot 1 - Logistics Profile: Analysing the actors and stakeholders in the logistic sector in the EUREGIO, together with the existing logistic hubs such as freight villages, ports, and road-rail transhipment points, as well as the present and future intra-regional and interregional goods flows.
Lot 2 - Infrastructure: Analysing the existing road, rail, and waterway infrastructures, current and future bottlenecks, and analysing the micro and macro-level accessibilities of logistics hubs within and outside EUREGIO.
Lot 3 - Interoperability: Analysing existing interoperability obstacles within the EUREGIO and developing proposals for tackling these obstacles.
Lot 4 - Green logistics: developing three pilot cases for green logistic solutions in the region.
The aim of all four lots is to collect detailed information and provide evidence for the elabroation process of the EUREGIO´s freight strategy.
TCP International is analysing the logistic actors and stakeholders and the logistic hubs (lot 1), is characterizing the existing infrastructures and implementing the accessibility analyses (lot 2), is contributing to the analysis of interoperability bottlenecks (lot 3), and is developing one of the pilot cases under lot 4.
